João Lima

João Lima has 25 years of experience at Bloomberg, including in editorial leadership roles, and recently worked as a Director at Brunswick Group, where he advised clients in sectors such as energy, retail and technology.

At Bloomberg, João specialised in areas including energy, infrastructure, banking, and economic and financial markets coverage in Southern Europe and other regions. He served as Portugal Bureau Chief for 15 years, leading teams and working with different regions, coordinating editorial operations, anticipating events and delivering analysis and reporting on corporate, economic, political and market developments. He was based in Madrid for almost four years and also covered EU policies and summits in Brussels.

João holds an MSc in European Politics and Policy from the London School of Economics and is a graduate of Cambridge University. He’s been a volunteer on Junior Achievement programmes involving schools in Portugal.
